Dog Day takes place at Goebel Pool on Aug. 7.

Covington’s Goebel Pool goes to the dogs this weekend.

The city is closing out its public pool season by inviting furry friends for a swim on Dog Day, noon-3 p.m. Aug. 7.

“The Cov has a lot of dog owners who like to take their pet out and have fun, and the dog swim day has come to be a very popular event,” the city’s Recreational Program Coordinator Tyler Wilson says in a release. “So come hang out with your pup poolside — all responsible pet owners and well-behaved dogs are welcome.”

Dog attendees will get a bandana and there will be a photo booth with available props, including floaties and goggles.

All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations to enter the pool and pre-registration is welcome but not required.

Goebel Pool is located at 737 Dalton St., Covington. Register for Dog Day at covparks.recdesk.com.
