The greater Cincinnati area has been put under a winter storm warning by the National Weather Service (NWS) post in Wilmington.
The NWS says that Southwestern Ohio will experience a “prolonged transition from rain to mix to snow” and there will be possible travel hazards and power outages due to this and heavy winds on Thursday.

Rain is forecasted to continue throughout the night, with temperatures dropping to 30 degrees. The chance of precipitation is now 100% with a quarter to a half-inch of rain expected.
Thursday morning is predicted to have freezing rain and sleet that continues through 4 p.m., when the precipitation should switch to snow and heavy sleet. Ice accumulation is expected to be around 0.1 to 0.3 inches.
Snow should continue through Thursday night into Friday morning with a predicted accumulation of one to two inches.
“Any way you look at it, Thursday travel will be a mess,” said the Wilmington NWS in a Tweet, so be prepared and stay safe.
